Booking a Film Location

When you book a film location on Scoutplex, you’re making arrangements to film/shoot in someone’s properties. Each renter has their own style of hospitality, starting with how they like to get to know their scouters.
1. Complete Your Profile
In either case, it’s important to know that Scoutplex is a community that relies on trust. Complete your profile before you request a reservation with a renter, so they can know a little bit about you when they confirm. Your profile should include photos and verifications, especially because some hosts require scouters to have a profile photo or Verified ID in order to book.

3. Book It!
You’ve found the perfect film location, and now it’s time to make it official. This is where the renters’s preferred way of booking will determine how you’ll confirm your reservation.
Request to Book
Many hosts prefer to approve reservations before they’re final. In this case, you’ll see a button on their listing that says Request to Book. To submit a reservation request, you’ll need to click submit request. Hosts have 24 hours to accept your request, and your reservation is automatically confirmed once they do.
- From the listing’s page, choose your travel dates and number of guests
- Click Request to Book
- Enter your payment details, and write an optional message to your host
- Click Book now
Your host will have 24 hours to respond, and the total reservation amount will be charged when they accept. You won’t be charged if the host declines or doesn’t respond.
Use the messaging feature on Scoutplex to find out more about a listing or renter before sending a booking request. To send a message, click Contact Owner on a listing page and enter the dates you’ll be traveling. When it’s time to book, you can adjust the dates if you need to.

Email addresses, phone numbers, and the listing address are only shared after a booking has been accepted. Before submitting or accepting a reservation request, you can use the messaging system on the site to communicate.
In order to maintain your safety and privacy, all contact between reenters and scouters needs to be handled on the site before a booking is accepted. If you attempt to exchange email addresses or phone numbers before having an accepted reservation, this information will be automatically removed. Continued attempts at transacting offline may result in your removal from the site, per our Terms of Service.
