Creating an Account
Learn everything you need to know about creating an account here @ scoutplex.com.
If you don’t have an Scoutplex account yet, head to: https://www.scoutplex.com/register
You can use your email address, G+ account, or even connect through Facebook. Signing up and creating an Scoutplex account is totally free, whether you’re looking to film or list your film location!
After you sign up, please be sure to complete your profile.
To edit your Scoutplex profile information, including your profile photo:
- Click your name in the right sidebar of scoutplex.com
- Select My Profile
- Use the menu below to select different sections of your profile to edit
There are five sections to choose from:
Edit Profile: update the basics about who you are, including the phone number and email address you’ll share when you have a confirmed reservation. Click Save at the bottom of the page to save your changes. A verified phone number may be required to book reservations.
Photos: upload a photo from your computer, or take one with your webcam. Choose a photo that clearly shows your face.
Your profile is like a résumé or curriculum vitae for others in the Scoutplex community. Visiting someone’s profile is a great way to learn more about them ahead of a booking.
Scoutplex is a community marketplace built on trust and safety, so we require all renters to have a profile photo, and we ask scouters to upload a profile photo before making their first reservation. Scouters and renters prefer to book reservations with people who have legitimate profile photos, complete profiles, and multiple verifications.
When your profile is robust, it helps others feel that you’re reliable, authentic, and committed to the spirit of Scoutplex. Whether you’re a renter or a scouter, the more complete your profile, the more reservations you’re likely to book, too.
For a great profile, be sure to include:
- At least one profile photo
- A description of at least 50 words highlighting why you decided to join the Scoutplex community, your interests or hobbies, or anything else you think someone would want to know
To view someone’s profile, just click their profile photo. Read the previous questions about how to edit your profile.
I forgot my password.
If you’ve forgotten your password or are having trouble logging in to your Scoutplex account, click forgot password in the login page. Then, enter the email address you use for Scoutplex and you’ll be emailed a link to reset your password.
I want to change my password.
- Visit your profile page. Click your my profile in the right sidebar of scotuplex.com, select My Profile, then scroll down the page.
- There, you will see a section where you can change or reset your password.
In order to change your password, you need to know your current password.
Scoutplex may limit, suspend, or deactivate your account, as outlined in our Terms of Service.
Your account may be deactivated during a review of Scoutplex accounts. Reviews are part of an effort to foster a trustworthy community and uphold the Terms of Service.
The following may occur with or without notifying you directly:
- Your account can be deactivated or suspended
- You may not be able to access the platform, your account or content, or receive assistance from Scoutplex Customer Experience
Any upcoming pending or accepted reservations you have as either a host or guest can be canceled; you may not be entitled to any compensation for the reservations that were canceled as a result of your suspension. We also may:
- Communicate to the appropriate user that their booking was canceled.
- Refund scouters in full, regardless of the cancellation policy.
- Contact scouters about alternative film locations that may be available.
